Suncor incident disrupts Petro‑Canada payments and services
In late June 2023, SUNCOR ENERGY disclosed a cyber incident that impacted customer and supplier transactions across Canada. Petro‑Canada locations reported payment outages, with some stations accepting only cash, and digital services such as the app and loyalty program were disrupted during recovery into July. Suncor said at the time it had no evidence of misuse of customer, supplier, or employee data.
