DNV ShipManager ransomware disrupts ~1,000 vessels’ operations
On 7 Jan 2023, ransomware hit DNV’s servers hosting its ShipManager system, prompting shutdown of the hosting environment. Roughly 70 customers operating about 1,000 vessels were affected and reverted to onboard offline functionality while DNV worked with authorities and partners to restore services.
