Honduras IHTT cyberattack blocks databases; key procedures halted and revenue lost

In mid‑March 2024, the Instituto Hondureño de Transporte Terrestre suffered a cyberattack that blocked its databases and left administrative offices inactive, halting issuance of certificates, permits and fines nationwide. Officials reported daily revenue losses of L500,000–L700,000 and later migrated recovered databases to the cloud as part of remediation.
