Leaseweb disables critical systems after detecting breach; some cloud customers experience downtime

On the night of 22/08/2023, Leaseweb detected unusual activity in parts of its cloud environments while investigating Customer Portal downtime. To mitigate risk, it temporarily disabled certain critical systems affecting the Customer Portal, leading to downtime for a small number of cloud customers. Leaseweb engaged a DFIR firm and said the incident was contained while systems were being restored.
