Allcargo ECU Worldwide ransomware forced online systems offline about 15 days

On 07/02/2021, ALLCARGO LOGISTICS disclosed a cyber incident that made certain ECU Worldwide online platforms temporarily unavailable. Subsequent statements and reporting confirmed it was a ransomware attack that shut down the company’s website and online transactions for more than two weeks, with ECU’s online platforms and email impacted. Customers were unable to communicate with ECU, and the company required prepayment before releasing freight while local offices worked around the clock to handle documentation and cargo handling.
