Guatemala’s DIGECAM confirms data extraction; launches user support and license replacement protocol

Guatemala’s Ministry of Defense confirmed on 10 April (2026) that the portal of the Directorate General of Arms and Ammunition Control (DIGECAM) suffered an external cyberattack with data extraction. Authorities activated a protocol to validate and replace affected licenses at no cost and issued guidance to users on required documentation for in-person processing, evidencing service disruption and additional workload in citizen services while security measures were reinforced.
