Cyberattack on Chile’s public health institute delays HIV/hepatitis confirmations

The Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile (ISP) suffered a cyberattack on 27 Jun 2025. ISP acknowledged switching to manual workflows and prioritization while restoring services, which caused slower turnaround for HIV and hepatitis B/C confirmations. Multiple public hospitals reported delays that postponed treatment starts under the GES plan.
