Ransomware at INTA Argentina led to radar outages and service restoration efforts

Argentina’s INTA reported a ransomware attack around 2 May 2023 with a multimillion-dollar demand. As part of containment, meteorological radars were disconnected, reducing availability of weather data to stakeholders including the national meteorological service, before radars were progressively reconnected.
