Malware attack disrupts Nihon Kotsu taxi reservation and dispatch systems

Nihon Kotsu detected unauthorized external access and malware infection in its internal systems during the early morning of July 11, 2026. To contain the intrusion, the company isolated its internal network and shut down affected systems. Its chauffeur web ordering and reservation-management system, telephone taxi dispatch service, maternity-taxi registration forms and some internal systems became unavailable. Customers were redirected to the GO taxi application, taxi stands and street-hailing services, allowing partial transportation operations to continue. Nihon Kotsu later confirmed that some company files had been leaked externally while restoration work continued.
