Puerto Rico DTOP cyberattack pauses CESCO driver services

Puerto Rico government monitoring detected and neutralized a cyberattack directed at Department of Transportation and Public Works systems on 23 March 2026. PRITS disconnected DTOP systems as a containment measure, which paused services at the island's Driver Services Centers and forced affected driver's-license, permit and vehicle-registration appointments to be rescheduled. CESCO services resumed on 26 March after technical validation, with one center requiring additional checks. Authorities reported no evidence of citizen-data compromise.
