Cyberattack disrupts Dresden State Art Collections digital and visitor services

On 21 January 2026, the Dresden State Art Collections suffered a deliberate cyberattack that affected large portions of its digital infrastructure. Telephone and digital availability were severely restricted, and the online shop and visitor service became unavailable, although museum buildings, physical security systems and on-site visitor access remained operational. The web portal was largely restored by 26 January and telephone and visitor-service availability subsequently returned, while some functions remained restricted during recovery.
