Cyberattack causes nationwide Unitel mobile and internet outage in Angola

A major cyberattack detected shortly after 02:00 on 28 July 2026 disrupted Unitel mobile voice, data and internet services across Angola for millions of customers. The outage also affected business communications, payment terminals and third-party digital services operating over Unitel's network. Services were progressively restored, with Unitel announcing nationwide restoration of mobile voice, messaging, data, internet and third-party services on 21 August.
