Ransomware disrupts Turks and Caicos government services and payments

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government reported that a ransomware attack on 18 December 2024 caused major disruption to government services. Financial systems required restoration before normal payments could resume, and business-continuity procedures were used to process social-welfare payments, scholarships, healthcare payments, utilities, payroll and other approved goods and services. The government warned that non-urgent payments could be delayed while recovery continued.
