A cyber incident disclosed by the City of West Haven in late December 2024 forced the city to shut down its virtual environment and IT systems while investigators contained the compromise. Reporting states that municipal systems were restored within several days. The Qilin ransomware group later claimed responsibility, but available city statements did not independently confirm ransomware or the group's attribution.
