PIH Health ransomware disrupts clinical systems and patient care across multiple hospitals

On 01/12/2024, PIH Health suffered a ransomware incident that led it to take its network offline across hospitals and other facilities. Patient records, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, registration, phone and other IT systems became unavailable; staff shifted to manual downtime procedures, some surgeries and appointments were canceled or rescheduled, and patients experienced care delays while emergency and urgent-care services remained open.
