Unauthorized access disrupts Coppell municipal services and payments
On 23 October 2024, an external party gained unauthorized access to City of Coppell servers. The city's containment response restricted server access and caused sustained outages affecting internet and phones, permit and inspection services, water-utility payments, municipal-court functions, digital library services, public-record processing and other city systems. Phone service returned on 1 November, while online utility billing and its payment kiosk were restored on 14 November.
