Cyberattack causes prolonged system-wide phone outage at Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board technology systems were attacked on 20 November 2024, producing a system-wide telephone outage. The disruption affected normal telephone access to Customer Service, Park Police, Forestry, recreation centers and other MPRB locations, forcing the agency to establish temporary numbers and alternative email channels. Program-registration systems were explicitly reported as unaffected. Regular telephone service was fully restored on 31 December, 41 days after the attack.
