Ransomware at Nidec Instruments severely impairs internal business operations

On 26 May 2024, Nidec Instruments detected ransomware-based unauthorized access to business operation systems and other internal systems, encrypting files across multiple servers. Nidec stated that the incident severely impaired its internal business operations; by 27 May it had restored backup data sufficiently to build a minimal system for continuing business with outside parties, while broader core and peripheral system recovery continued.
