Romanian Soft Company ransomware disables Hipocrate systems across 26 hospitals

During the night of 11-12/02/2024, Romanian Soft Company, developer and operator of the Hipocrate hospital information system, suffered a ransomware attack. Romania's national cybersecurity authority later reported that 26 hospitals using Hipocrate were directly disrupted and were unable to carry out normal activity for approximately one week. The incident therefore propagated from the attacked software provider into hospital operational workflows; available incident reporting did not establish data exfiltration.
