VARTA cyberattack shuts production across five global plants
VARTA was hit by a cyberattack during the night of 12/02/2024 affecting IT systems across its administration and all five production plants. The company proactively shut down IT systems and production, leaving plants in Germany, Romania and Indonesia unable to operate normally. Ten days later VARTA said production was not yet fully operational and that the first portions of its plants were expected to restart the following week.
