DDoS campaign degrades and intermittently disables Meduza

Meduza disclosed on 11 March 2024 that a cyber campaign underway since mid-February was repeatedly targeting its digital infrastructure. DDoS attacks generated traffic hundreds of times above normal levels, causing the news website to load slowly or become inaccessible to legitimate readers, while mirror infrastructure and other distribution channels were also repeatedly targeted. Meduza assessed that Russian authorities or Kremlin-linked actors were likely responsible but explicitly stated that it lacked direct evidence for attribution.
