Ransomware disrupts Scranton School District technology and school operations

A ransomware attack caused district-wide technology outages at Scranton School District in March 2024. Staff and students were instructed not to use district computers, district phones and the website became unavailable, and classes were delayed by two hours while the district responded to the network disruption. Schools continued operating, but the loss of communications and digital systems materially degraded educational operations.
