Patelco ransomware shuts down core digital banking services for more than two weeks

On 29/06/2024, PATELCO CREDIT UNION experienced a ransomware incident that required it to shut down day-to-day banking systems. Online banking, the mobile application, balance and transaction history, electronic transfers and some payment functions became unavailable or limited, while branches and the call center operated with reduced technology. Core banking services and transactions were restored on 15/07/2024, and a transaction backlog was subsequently posted.
