Cyberattack forces Special Health Resources clinic closures and appointment cancellations

Special Health Resources of Texas detected unauthorized access to its systems on 1 June 2024. The incident disrupted computer and telephone systems, forced cancellation of routine and non-urgent appointments, temporarily closed some clinics and left services including dental care unavailable. Operational technology disruptions continued for about ten days. BlackSuit publicly claimed the attack, but the victim did not attribute the incident to BlackSuit or independently confirm ransomware.
