Ransomware attack closes Cleveland City Hall and disrupts citizen-facing services

The City of Cleveland identified malicious activity on 8 June 2024 and shut down affected systems before confirming the incident as ransomware. City Hall and the Erieview municipal offices were closed to the public, internal software systems were unavailable and some citizen-facing services, including 311 functions, were interrupted. Public safety, airports and core utility services remained operational. City Hall reopened for selected public services on 20 June.
