The City of Newburgh detected and contained a network security incident on 10 June 2024 involving unauthorized third-party access to city systems. City Hall and another municipal facility were closed, telephone and email services were disrupted, and the city was temporarily unable to process property-tax, water, sewer, sanitation, permit and parking-ticket payments.
