Key Tronic cyberattack halts U.S. and Mexico manufacturing operations

Key Tronic detected unauthorized third-party access on 6 May 2024. The incident disrupted business applications supporting operations and corporate functions, and the company halted U.S. and Mexico operations for approximately two weeks during remediation. After production restarted, affected locations required roughly another two weeks to return to near capacity. Key Tronic later confirmed data exfiltration and reported approximately $2.3 million in additional expenses plus about $15 million of fourth-quarter revenue it was unable to fulfill, although most affected orders were expected to be recoverable. Black Basta claimed the attack, but Key Tronic did not attribute the incident or independently confirm ransomware.
