In mid-May 2024, the American Radio Relay League suffered an extensive ransomware attack that compromised on-premises and cloud systems. ARRL reported that Logbook of The World, the Learning Center, telephone services, Volunteer Examiner Coordinator processing and other operational systems were disrupted, with services restored incrementally over subsequent weeks. ARRL later confirmed that it paid a USD 1 million ransom.
