Cyberattack on Matadero de Gijón halts slaughterhouse production

A cyber incident affecting the computer-controlled wastewater treatment system at Matadero de Gijón forced the slaughterhouse to stop operations and send workers home, leaving more than 40 cattle unprocessed. Production subsequently resumed using manual control of the treatment process. RansomHub separately claimed access to the plant's SCADA environment and theft of data; the operational shutdown is independently reported, while the ransomware group's specific technical claims remain attribution claims.
