Cyberattack on WazirX forces suspension of trading and withdrawals

On 18 July 2024, WazirX reported a cyberattack on a multisig wallet that stole more than USD 230 million in digital assets. The exchange then paused deposits and withdrawals for all users and paused trading; later it reversed trades made after the withdrawal stoppage while recovery proceeded.
