Cyberattack disables KC Scout traffic-management information systems

A cyberattack on 25 April 2024 led KC Scout to shut down its systems, taking its website, traffic cameras and real-time highway message boards out of service. Digital message boards did not return to real-time operation until 20 June, the website and live camera views returned in July, and full restoration continued afterward, materially degrading the regional traffic-management information service for an extended period.
