DDoS attack disrupted University of Manchester remote IT access

On 19 February 2024, a distributed denial-of-service campaign affecting UK university network infrastructure disrupted connectivity at the University of Manchester. Off-campus availability of university IT services was impaired, prompting staff and students to be advised initially to travel to campus; connectivity stabilized overnight, with some performance issues continuing during recovery. Anonymous Sudan claimed responsibility; that claim is treated as actor attribution rather than independent proof.
