Bjuv Municipality ransomware disrupted municipal IT and care workflows

Bjuv Municipality suffered an IT attack in January 2024 that caused affected systems to be shut down, required password resets and reinstallation of workstations, and disrupted municipal business systems. Municipal care documentation was among the affected workflows, forcing staff to rely on telephone and paper procedures until systems were restored. Akira later claimed the incident and threatened to publish stolen data; the claim is distinguished from the municipality's independently confirmed operational disruption.
