Ransomware paralyzes Sant Antoni municipal systems and public services

Sant Antoni de Portmany detected a cyberattack on 31/01/2024 that encrypted municipal files and forced computer systems across the municipality offline. Public-facing administrative processes, appointments and communications were disrupted while employees worked under contingency arrangements. Reporting later identified LockBit 3.0 ransomware in the incident, and the municipality was still recovering computers and citizen services more than two weeks later.
