Marutake ransomware impairs pharmaceutical wholesale operations
Marutake disclosed a system failure on April 28, 2026 and subsequently confirmed unauthorized external access and ransomware. As of May 8, some servers remained impaired, complete restoration was expected to require considerable time, and the company said normal handling of some business operations was difficult. Marutake implemented alternative measures to continue stable pharmaceutical supply while systems were recovered.
