Cybersecurity incident delays UT San Antonio fall semester

UT San Antonio detected attempted unauthorized activity against its academic-campus technology environment in mid-August 2026. The activity was contained before reaching core systems, but the university proactively took systems and services offline, disrupting connectivity, email and other essential technology services. Restoration requirements forced the university to postpone the start of fall classes from 19 August to 24 August and extend certain registration and payment deadlines.
