JPS Health Network cyber incident disrupts clinical operations

JPS Health Network identified suspicious activity on 3 August 2026 and took network systems offline to isolate its environment. The resulting downtime affected its hospital and more than 25 community clinics, forcing paper-based and manual workflows, delaying pharmacy and registration processes, postponing elective procedures and temporarily diverting ambulances carrying trauma, stroke and serious heart-attack patients. Core electronic health records returned on 14 August and routine operations resumed by 16 August. JPS has not publicly disclosed the technical attack mechanism.
