University City cyberattack disrupts municipal services

University City, Missouri confirmed that malicious cyber activity caused a prolonged network disruption affecting municipal systems and online services. Permitting, public-record access, card processing and online bill payment were among the unavailable services documented during the outage. The city later reported that systems and services affected by the cyberattack had been restored by 6 August. The city's final update dates the cyberattack from 19 June, although the associated network outage was publicly reported earlier.
