Malware attack closes dozens of AnMed healthcare facilities

Malware disrupted AnMed's network beginning 26 July 2026, impairing phone, internet, MyChart and other computer-dependent services across its South Carolina and Georgia operations. AnMed initially closed 83 of 106 facilities and delayed or canceled elective care while using downtime procedures; ten facilities remained closed on 10 August. The Gentlemen later claimed responsibility and alleged theft of roughly 6 TB, while AnMed separately confirmed that patient health information was breached without validating the group's claimed volume.
