Ransomware forces WebHot to rebuild hosting environment

A ransomware attack struck Danish hosting provider WebHot on 15 July 2026 and rendered nearly all of its systems unusable within minutes. The company determined that normal recovery was not viable and rebuilt its environment from scratch. Email service resumed approximately 44 hours later, but customer email predating the rebuilt service was permanently lost and broader service restoration continued afterward.
