Ransomware cripples Jackson County Sheriff's Office network

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Indiana confirmed that ransomware disabled its entire computer network in March 2026. Computers, Wi-Fi and the police-report system were unavailable, dispatchers used computers at the Seymour Police Department and staff relied on manual workarounds while systems were wiped, rebuilt and replaced.
