Ransomware disables Werkstatt Bremen IT and affects police evidence-unit systems

In early February 2026, ransomware targeted Werkstatt Bremen and disabled large portions of its IT infrastructure, preventing computers from starting and severely restricting electronic communications. Because Werkstatt Bremen provided computer-technology services to the Bremen police evidence unit, that unit's IT was also affected by the same incident. Authorities stated that regular police work was not disrupted.
