Ransomware disrupts Ireland Office of the Ombudsman case-management services
The Office of the Ombudsman identified unauthorized access to its IT environment on 11 December 2025 in an incident it understood to be financially motivated ransomware. Systems were taken offline for containment, including the electronic case-management environment, slowing complaint handling and disrupting services while restoration proceeded.
