Ransomware disrupts DuPage County justice systems
DuPage County experienced a ransomware attack on 28 April 2025 affecting systems used by the Sheriff's Office, the 18th Judicial Circuit and the Circuit Court Clerk. Network systems were taken offline, digital court and sheriff functions were interrupted, and some proceedings and services were delayed or moved to contingency processes while in-person operations continued in reduced form.
