Ransomware disrupts RackRay public cloud and destroys customer backups
RackRay's public-cloud platform was compromised beginning at approximately 15:00 on 3 March 2025. Attackers encrypted customer virtual systems and stored backups, leaving virtual resources inaccessible and some backup data unrecoverable. Lithuania's State Data Protection Inspectorate later confirmed that the incident disrupted service provision, including financial services, and that part of the affected data could not be restored.
