Cyberattack disrupts Fort Bend County Libraries network services for six months

Fort Bend County Libraries experienced a cybersecurity incident beginning on 24 February 2025 that disrupted its network and digital library functions. The online catalog, user accounts, computer and internet access, email, printing and some phone services were affected. Physical branches remained open and some digital resources continued, but the replacement network and normal catalog and computer access were not relaunched until 2 September after approximately six months.
