Ransomware disrupts Orleans Parish Sheriff bond and release workflows

The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office detected a ransomware attack on 4 September 2025 that compromised administrative systems used for bond transactions, jail-release coordination and court-record workflows. Critical platforms remained impaired for an extended period, while the separate jail security computer system continued operating. Qilin later self-claimed the attack; that attribution is not required for TRACE eligibility.
