Maryland Transit Administration cyber incident disrupts paratransit scheduling and rider information

The Maryland Transit Administration reported unauthorized access to certain systems on 24 August 2025. Mobility paratransit could not schedule new trips or rebook existing trips, while real-time rider information and call centers were affected; core transit services continued operating. An interim scheduling and customer-service system was in place by 29 August, and MTA later confirmed incident-related data loss.
