Elche ransomware disables municipal IT and suspends administrative procedures
A ransomware attack on 25 August 2025 rendered the Elche City Council's municipal IT system inoperative, preventing normal administrative processing and disrupting citizen-facing services. Recovery proceeded gradually; several services remained unavailable in September and administrative deadlines suspended because of the cyberattack were not fully resumed until 6 October 2025.
