Nevada ransomware disrupts statewide government and DMV services
Nevada's statewide cyber incident culminated in ransomware deployment on 24 August 2025, taking critical virtualized services offline. State offices paused in-person services, websites and phone lines were degraded, and the DMV temporarily lost driver-license and ID transactions. Nevada later published an after-action report describing a 28-day recovery and restoration of statewide services within four weeks.
